Elysium

If you want to relax and unwind in picturesque surroundings, you really can’t beat Elysium. The outside area at this beautiful villa really is something else with exceptional panoramic sea views. The highlight is the magnificent saltwater infinity pool, surrounded by decking with sunloungers, sunumbrellas and seating areas. There’s a hydromassage area in the pool that’s ideal for relieving everyday stresses, and even an “in pool” island that’s the best choice for an evening aperitivo surrounded by the water! 

Close to the pool is another terrace area with a beautiful dining table that looks out over the Ionian Sea and outdoor sofas. Great for al fresco meals, you can choose sun or shade thanks to the electric awning above the table. There’s also a small lawn area with a wood-burning traditional barbecue where delicious meals can be cooked under the Sicilian sky. 

There’s a first floor terrace with some of the best views around, with a jacuzzi for an extra touch of luxury. There’s nowhere better to chill out and enjoy the views! If topping up your tan is more your thing then you can spend time on the solarium with sunloungers and an outdoor shower to cool off. 

Behind the villa there’s another terrace area with colourful plant borders. From this terrace you can also enter the first floor directly. 

Walk past the pool area and enter into the bright open-plan living area. There’s a modern kitchen with top-quality appliances, including and induction hob and a wine fridge that’s great for keeping some local Etna wines fresh and ready for an aperitivo! A laundry room is just off from the kitchen. The living area has floor to ceiling sliding French doors that look over the pool area and the terrace with panoramic views. Inside there’s a comfy sofa and stylish dining table, and a TV. The ground floor is home to one double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with a unique bath and shower. 

Two more double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are found on the first floor. Both of these bedrooms have French windows that lead directly to the first floor terrace with a jacuzzi and sunloungers. 

Next to the main house, and close to the pool is the final double bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom. This room is only accessible from the pool area and is ideal for guests looking for a bit more privacy.

Elysium also has a wonderful fitness area with great gym equipment and a sauna. This gym has floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the pool. The gym also has a bathroom with a shower. 

Respiro – a villa very close to Elysium - is also available to rent. This is a beautiful villa with space for up to ten guests. Book both villas for a group holiday of up to 18 people and enjoy a wonderful holiday in Sicily together with friends and family. 

Beaches

Letojanni is the closest beach to Elysium. This small town has many restaurants and bars, and the pebbly beach has free areas, or lidos where you can rent sunloungers. Taormina’s beach, Isola Bella, is famed for its beauty and so should not be missed. Take the cable car from the town centre and enjoy a day by the sea in unforgettably beautiful surroundings. Giardini Naxos and Santa Teresa di Riva are two small seaside towns that both have lovely beaches too. Don’t forget La Playa in Catania either, it’s a large sandy bay just below the city with a fun atmosphere! 

Towns & Sights 

Elysium is a perfect base to explore east Sicily. Mount Etna looms large above the area, and you can’t miss visiting the volcano and also its foothill towns like Trecastagni and Nicolosi. Or visit Savoca where parts of The Godfather films were shot. You can see Taormina from the villa, so don’t miss out! This ever-so-chic town is beautiful, with wonderful boutiques, top-class restaurants, and a gorgeous beach. Catania is also not far. Visit the town for its vibrant markets, great shopping, and Baroque architecture. Heading north you can also visit Messina, famous for its clock tower, and also the views over to mainland Italy.  

Activities 

With its utmost comfort, it would be easy to spend your whole holiday at Elysium. However, there are so many fun adventures to be had away from the villa. Take a Jeep Tour of Mount Etna and reach the volcano’s summit, or book a Quad Tour of the Alcanatara Gorges and surround yourself with natural beauty. Foodies will love a Street Food tour of Catania, or a wine tour at a local winery. Then, of course, you could treat yourself to an in-villa cook service at the villa itself if you want a night off from cooking. Delicious!
