Things to do in Taormina

A few hints as to how to pass the time with fun activities. The town centre isn't just about shopping or eating delicious food in local restaurants. You can also walk up Monte Tauro and enjoy the amazing view! Castelmola is another small town with incredible views that is close to Taormina.

A gorgeous little town set in the hills above Tormina. Famous for its almond wine – don't miss out on a glass of the local speciality.

Shopping

There are some wonderful shops in Taormina – chic boutiques selling high-end clothes or artistic shops selling traditional goods – so set aside some time to buy some mementoes!

Monte Tauro

Climb up to the top of Monte Tauro, where you'll be treated to fantastic views. It takes about 20 minutes. Bring water and wear good shoes!

Palazzo Corvaja

A beautiful palace dating from the 10th century. Today you'll find the tourist office inside, where you can find information on the town and the surrounding area.

Don't miss

A few things that we love – don't miss these during your time in Sicily! Isola Bella and the Grotta Azzurra are two of the most beautiful attractions nearby. Other highlights are the Villa Comunale with its lovely garden and also the Saracen Castle.

Villa Comunale

This garden was designed by an English woman and is a haven of lush flowers and pretty garden design. An oasis of calm.

Great Food

You'll be spoilt for choice in Taormina. There's so many great restaurants ranging from relaxed bars to Michelin starred restaurants!

Castello Saraceno

An ancient castle with an imposing setting above Taormina. You can walk up via a staircase but the castle is currently closed to visitors. But the views are fantastic!

Grotta Azzurra

A beautiful natural cave near Isola Bella with exceptionally clear water with a bright, azure colour. A dream come to life!
