Options
The jeep will take you up through picturesque scenery of lava plains and incredible views. One you have reached the craters, there is an easy walk to the impressive Monte Fontana and a visit to the famous Valle del Bove. Wandering through old and new lava flows, walking on extinct craters and equipped with helmets and flashlights you will enjoy an unforgettable experience visiting a real lava cave, where ice was produced centuries ago. Seeing the contrast of green forests and ancient, dark lava is mesmerising!
If you book a full-day trip, you will have the same morning programme as on the half-day tour but will also have the chance to enjoy typical Sicilian food at a chalet and visit the famous Alcantara Gorges, which were formed millions of years ago on the north side of the volcano. Here you can walk barefoot in the crystal clear and ice-cold water of the canyon or (in the summer) have a refreshing swim. On the way to the canyon you will pass the idyllic Sicilian mountain village Castiglione di Sicilia and, in the distance, situated on a slope, will see Motta Camastra.

The full amount is to be paid at the time of booking to Villatravellers, payable by credit/debit card (MasterCard or Visa).
Cancellation
If you cancel your booking:
• 15 or more days before the date of the booked service: we will retain 30% of the amount paid;
• within 15 days of the date of the booked service: we will retain the full amount of the booked service.
