La Benvoluta

There is no garden but the two large terraces, one on each floor of the property, both have sea views. The balcony on the ground floor, furnished with table and chairs, is accessed from the living room and has breathtaking views of Isola Bella and Taormina beach. On the upper floor, the enormous terrace has sunloungers, a dining table and chairs, umbrellas and a view of Taormina Bay that stretches as far as the eye can see.

A spacious living area is effectively divided into two which works well for families or large groups. To one side, a large seating area has plenty of sofas for everyone and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that lead out to the balcony. As an alternative dining area to the outdoor terrace, a table and chairs are situated just behind this seating area with easy access from the kitchen. A small room provides additional storage space nearby.

To the other side of the living area, there is a second sitting room with direct access to a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom.

Upstairs, painted wooden furniture adds character to the very comfortable rooms. The two double bedrooms both have ensuite bathrooms and the twin and triple bedrooms share a bathroom. A corridor leads from the stairs to the large upstairs terrace.

Beaches

With its prestigious location in Taormina, a day at Isola Bella beach is a given at La Benvoluta. Take the cable car to the beach from the town centre, and spend a chic beach day in these gorgeous surroundings. There are many lovely other beaches in the area. Take a trip to Santa Teresa di Riva, Giardini Naxos, or Letojanni. These are all small seaside towns with great beaches and a super range of restaurants with sea views, and bars for leisurely aperitivos. La Playa beach in Catania is another fun option thanks to its sandy beach and several lidos with sunloungers to rent. 

Towns & Sights 

As you’re staying in Taormina, you will obviously spend a lot of time in this stylish town. With amazing sea views, a fantastic Greek-Roman theatre, top-class restaurants, and a gorgeous beach, Taormina really has it all. Imposing Mount Etna is impossible to ignore. Visit the volcano, but also the foothill towns with their traditional atmospheres like Milo, Trecastagni, and Nicolosi. Castelmolo is another hilltop town to visit. Don’t miss the Riviera dei Ciclopi with its lovely coastline and sleepy towns, or Catania, the main city in the area with colourful markets and amazing architecture. 

Activities 

Learn how to make Sicilian food during a cookery lesson – either in the villa, or in a local cookery school. Another foodie option is a Street Food Tour in Catania where you’ll see the sights and taste the traditional flavours. Head up to a winery on Mount Etna for a wine tasting of their wines that grow thanks to the fertile, volcanic soil. Or, set sail along the coast and see east Sicily from the sea and fall in love with its beauty. For fresh air, a jeep tour up Mount Etna is a wonderful choice, as is a quad tour of the incredible Alcantara Gorges.
