Palmita

Palmita’s large garden includes lawn, soaring trees, and Mediterranean plants, and creates the ideal place to enjoy the fantastic Sicilian weather. You’ll want to spend all your time outside, making the most of the great facilities. 

The pool area is without a doubt the highlight. Comfortable sunloungers and sun umbrellas surround the saltwater pool where you can top up your tan and cool off on a hot day. There’s also a stylish sofa area where you can relax by the pool. To the other side of the pool is a gazebo with a large dining table and a modern barbecue with a sink and a hob plate. This is the best spot for leisurely al fresco meals! 

For fun and games there’s a ping pong table in the garden, and for extra comfort there’s a bathroom near the pool, as well as external showers. 

The local train line runs next to the villa’s garden, but it not too intrusive. There’s a local train stop not too far from the villa too, so you can easily hop on the train and explore the local area. 

This villa is three separate apartments in one building offering guests their own space and privacy. It’s ideal for groups of families or friends who want to holiday together, or extended families looking to get away from it all. 

The first apartment on the ground floor looks out over the pool area. There’s a welcoming open-plan living area with table and chairs, a sofa and TV, and a kitchen that leads out to the patio with an outdoor dining table. There’s a bedroom with bunk beds, as well as a bright double bedroom that also has a door that leads outside. The two bedrooms share a modern bathroom with shower found just off the corridor. 

The second ground floor apartment looks over the garden. This apartment also has an open-plan living area with kitchen and living area with a TV, two bedrooms – one double, and one bunk bed bedroom – and a shared bathroom with a shower. There’s a small seating area that looks over the garden next to the living area. 

The final apartment is found on the first floor. Walk up the external staircase to reach and walk into the luminous open-plan living area. With large sliding French doors that lead to a wrap-around terrace, this room with its modern kitchen, sofa and TV area, and table and chairs, is gorgeous. You can even see the sea and the Aeolian Islands glittering in the distance! This apartment has one double bedroom with a door that takes you to the balcony, a smaller bedroom under the eaves with a French bed, and a shared modern bathroom. 

Each apartment has its own laundry area, and all bedrooms have TVs and comfy furnishings. 

Beaches

Triskele Beach Club is just a five-minute walk from Palmita, so you can easily spend every day by the sea during your holiday in Sicily. There are many other amazing beaches nearby. Visit San Gregorio for lazy days under the sun, or head to Marinello and the “tongue of sand” for a unique setting for peaceful moments by the sea. Capo d’Orlando has a lively sandy beach that has both lidos with sunloungers, or free areas. All the beaches in this part of Sicily have amazing views of the Aeolians Islands, only adding to their charm and beauty. 

Towns & Sights 

Capo d’Orlando is a fun beach town with a great atmosphere. You can readily find good bars and restaurants, as well as shops. It is also a port with ferry links to the Aeolian Islands. These seven islands are simply beautiful, and should definitely be visited for a day trip on your holiday. Milazzo is another smaller town with links to the Aeolian Islands, as well as a small-town feel and charm. Messina is the largest town in the area. Visit and be wowed by the closeness to mainland Italy, as well as the beautifully restored churches. For a breath of fresh, mountain air, visit the Nebrodi Mountains. 

Activities 

In the comfort of Palmita you can easily arrange an in-villa cook service, or a fun cookery lesson. These are both superb ways to enjoy a foodie experience without leaving Palmita’s tranquil setting. With the Aeolian Islands so close, it’s impossible to resist the temptation to book a boat trip to these glorious islands with their crystal-clear waters and relaxed atmospheres. You could also head towards Mount Etna and book a jeep tour to the summit, or visit the lesser-known Alcantara Gorges and enjoy a quad tour of this beautiful natural sight.
