Pellegrina
Cefalù (North Sicily)
There are several various areas – on two different levels – that offer sun and shade, as well as peace and tranquility.
The main patio is in front of the Main House and the Guest House. There are two large umbrellas on the patio – one with a comfy outdoor seating area underneath, and the other with a lovely dining area. Spend time here relaxing and enjoying meals together, taking in the view out over Cefalù. There is also a small chapel in this area, adding a historic touch. A vine-covered staircase leads down to the pool area, with a gate offering security for children.
The large swimming pool is found on the lower level. Dive into the cool water then stretch out on a sunlounger, or just chill out in the swing seats. A charming seating area is found on the grass just above the pool, with a stylish sail offering shade from the midday sun. A nearby gazebo has a table that is ideal for an evening aperitivo.
Cook delicious Sicilian meals every evening in the wonderful outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and a wood-burning oven. It's the perfect place to do some al fresco cooking!
Main House
Walk straight into the charming living area with comfy sofas and an open fireplace. From the living area guests can also access a small, traditional wine cellar. The main kitchen – with a characteristic Sicilian style – is found just off the living room. A colourful staircase decorated with traditional tiles leads up to the first floor. The master bedroom has its own dressing room and bathroom as well as access outside. There is also a convertible twin bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom. A laundry room, that can also be accessed from outside, is found on the first floor.
Guest House
The Guest House is found directly next to the Main House, with the patio in front of it. There is a simple living area with a large dining table and a basic kitchen. A bathroom with a shower is also on the ground floor. The double bed is found upstairs on the mezzanine level.
Cottage
The cottage is set slightly apart from the other buildings. The cosy living area is on the ground floor: an open-plan space with a sofa and table. There is a small kitchenette as well as a bathroom with shower. The sleeping area is on the first floor in a mezzanine area.
Beaches
There are plenty of amazing beaches in north Sicily. Cefalù is one of the most famous. The large sandy bay with the town and cathedral in the background is breathtaking. Rent sunloungers from one of the lidos for a fun day by the sea with great facilities. Settefrati and Mazzaforno are close to Cefalù but have slightly quieter atmospheres. Sant’Ambrogio is also close. The water here is crystal-clear. It’s hard to resist jumping in! Further afield, head to Castel di Tusa, or Finale di Pollina for a carefree day by the sea.
Towns & Sights
Cefalù is a very popular seaside town in Sicily, and is very close to the villa. Cefalà has everything you could dream of for a holiday destination; a beautiful cathedral, a sandy beach, fantastic cuisine, and a characterful town centre. Visit and be enchanted! Castelbuono is a hilltop town in the Madonie Mountains that is worth a visit for the impressive castle and authentic local restaurants. Santo Stefano di Camastra is a seaside town that is famous for colourful ceramics that make for amazing souvenirs. The Fiumara d’Arte sculpture trail is also in the area. Follow the trail and see these monumental land art works of art.
Activities
Make the trip to Palermo and enjoy a Street Food tour of the city, seeing the vibrant city centre and tasting the most delicious food imaginable. Another option for great food is a cookery lesson in the villa, or even a cook service with a fantastic meal prepared especially for you. North Sicily has many wineries, and so a tour and tasting is a fun experience for anyone with an interest in wine. To see the sights in the area, pick a private tour of Cefalù and Castelbuono, or a boat tour where you’ll see the most beautiful bays and swim in the warm Tyrrhenian Sea.
