Salina

Salina has a lovely pool. Surrounded by sunloungers and umbrellas it is a great place to soak up the sun. Along the side of the villa is a charming shaded veranda, kitted out with outdoor furniture. There's a wonderful seating area that is ideal for an evening aperitivo, and a beautiful outdoor dining table where you can enjoy leisurely al fresco meals cooked on the barbecue. Salina also has an outdoor shower, where you can freshen up, and a ping pong table for any sport-lovers.

Enter the villa from the veranda and you will find yourself in an entrance hall. To the left is the modern kitchen, with all the equipment you could need. Also accessible from the hallway is a small dining area and the comfortable sitting room, with a fireplace and a TV. These areas all have pretty Sicilian tiles adorning their floors. Two ground floor bedrooms can be reached from the sitting room: one double bedroom with ensuite bathroom and access to the garden, and another double bedroom. The ground floor also has another modern bathroom with a shower.

Take the staircase from the sitting room to reach the first floor. Another seating area greets you, with sofas, a TV and access to a small first floor terrace. Three further bedrooms are found on the first floor. All the bedrooms have double beds. One has its own ensuite bathroom, whilst the other two share a large bathroom with a shower.

Beaches

The beaches in west Sicily are often overlooked, and are less crowded than other areas in Sicily. San Teodoro beach is close to the villa. With shallow water, you can walk to an island just off the coast. It’s a favourite for kitesurfers. Baia Cornino, and San Giuliano are two other quiet beaches that are great for a day by the sea. San Vito lo Capo’s sandy beach draws visitors from all over the world and is incredibly popular, as is the Tonnara di Scopello that you may recognise from Hollywood films. For pure nature, visit Lo Zingaro Nature Reserve and enjoy the small rocky bays along the coast. 

Towns & Sights 

Marsala is very close to the villa. Sicily’s most westerly town will charm you thanks to its beautiful and well-maintained town centre with beautiful architecture. It’s also a haven for foodies and has many top-class restaurants and wine bars. Trapani is another pretty town on the coast with ferry links to the gorgeous Aegadian Islands. Why not go to Favignana island for lunch? Erice is set on a hill above Trapani. With Medieval, winding streets, an ancient castle, and sea views, it will leave you breathless! Mazara del Vallo is another town to visit with a kasbah and great fish restaurants.  

Activities 

Wine is one of the most important products in the area, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to visit a winery and enjoy a tour. You’ll even get to taste some of the local wines. The ancient temple and theatre of Segesta are amazing. Visit them during a private tour that will also take you to the amazing salt pans between Trapani and Marsala, as well as Erice. The three Aegadian Islands are beautiful, and can easily be visited during a boat tour. Spend a day on deck with the sea breeze in your hair and not a care in your heart!
