Mira

The outdoor areas of Mira allow you to enjoy the very best of Sicily’s warm climate. The saltwater infinity pool is a highlight, surrounded by decking with sunloungers and umbrellas – the perfect place to soak up the sunshine and take in the spectacular views over the surrounding valley and out to sea. This breathtaking panorama adds a magical touch to every moment spent outdoors.

The Mediterranean garden is full of local plants that fill the air with aromatic scents. There is also a barbecue area where you can cook wonderful meals using fresh produce, as well as a stylish outdoor dining table and a large, comfortable seating area. Villa Mira’s peaceful location means the garden is an oasis of Mediterranean relaxation.

The best views around are found on the roof terrace, that can be accessed via an external staircase. Here you can take in the incredible panorama that stretches out over the valley and out to sea.

Mira has a fantastic design with wonderful attention to detail around every corner. The living area has large sliding glass doors creating a bright environment with a sofa and T.V area. The modern kitchen has all top-class appliances, as well as a round dining table. There is also a laundry room and a guest bathroom. 

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor. The first has a double bed, ensuite bathroom, and French windows that lead directly out to the garden. The second bedroom is a quadruple suite for up to four guests. It consists of a double bed, a separate room with a sofa bed, and a large bathroom with a shower. As the bathroom is shared, this suite is best for families. 

The final bedroom is a suite the first floor. This exclusive area offers even more privacy for guests. There is a sitting room, a large double bed, an ensuite bathroom, and access to a private terrace with sea views.

Gioi – a villa very close to Mira - is also available to rent. This is a beautiful villa with space for up to eight guests. Book both villas for a group holiday of up to 16 people and enjoy a wonderful holiday in Sicily together with friends and family. 

Beaches 

The Vendicari Nature Reserve is close to villa Mira. This protected area of coastline has some of the best beaches around, all with completely unspoilt natural beauty to be enjoyed. Calamosche beach is one of the most beautiful sandy bays around! There are many other wonderful beaches in the area, such as San Lorenzo and Avola. Not forgetting Fontane Bianche with its white sand and lively beach bars. Slightly further away you can also visit Portopalo di Capo Passero where the Mediterranean and Ionian Seas meet, or head north and explore the rocky shores of Plemmirio Nature Reserve. 

Towns & Sights 

The Val di Noto opens up to you when staying at Mira. You can easily explore these Baroque towns, each more beautiful than the last. Noto is right on your doorstep. Visit and admire the honey-coloured cathedral and the extravagant Baroque decorations all over town. Don’t miss Ragusa Ibla with its maze of narrow streets, or Modica with its impressive churches and unique chocolate culture. Siracusa is also not far and should not be missed. As one of Sicily’s most important towns, in Siracusa you can visit ancient temples, Baroque churches, and so much more! 

Activities 

There’s never a dull moment in this part of Sicily. Enjoy a boat trip along the south-east coast, stopping off at bays and diving into the crystal-clear water. Or, book a tour of the Baroque towns of the Val di Noto and see their splendid beauty in all their glory! Foodies will love a chocolate tour in Modica, or a cookery lesson at a local cookery school. If you’re into watersports, make sure you head to Pozzallo where you can go windsurfing. And don’t forget birdwatching at Vendicari Nature Reserve; at some times of year you can even see flamingoes during their migration!
