Solena

Furnished with contemporary white furniture and sunbeds in shades of oatmeal, the only splash of colour to be seen on the magnificent glass-fronted terrace is the turquoise of the sea and blue of the sky.
From here, a spiral staircase winds up to an even more spectacular and completely private roof terrace, with more furniture and sunloungers and a barbecue. However the highlight is the jacuzzi - available only to guests at Solena - which is strategically positioned in the corner of the terrace to ensure the best sea views.
Access to the apartment is via the main entrance at the back of the building.

Solena is found on the first floor of the building. The large open-plan living/dining area is very contemporary, with splashes of grey against a white backdrop and huge sliding doors out to the terrace. The kitchen is at one side of the room, all gleaming black and chrome, with a glossy white dining table and chairs.
There are two bedrooms: the master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. Both rooms have fabulous sea views. The second bedroom has a double and a single bed next door to the second bathroom with shower. There is also a small laundry room.

Beaches

You can easily walk from Solena to the beach, but the area also boasts some of the best beaches in Sicily. Jump in the car to Pozzallo for a wild day of watersports. This beach is a haven for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Give it a go! For a quiet seaside town with a lovely beach, take a trip to Sampieri, or if you prefer smaller bays, then Ciriga, Santa Maria del Focallo, and Porto Ulisse are all wonderful. The Vendicari Nature Reserve offers a great day out; pack a picnic and walk to the uncrowded sandy beaches. If you prefer lidos, Fontane Bianche near Siracusa is the best option. 

 Towns & Sights 

Solena’s location in south-east Sicily means you have almost limitless options for amazing day trips. The famous towns of the Val di Noto can all easily be reached from the villa. Stroll around towns like Ragusa, Modica, Scicli, and Noto and be wowed by their Baroque architecture. Each town has their own traditions and characters, so try to visit them all! Marzamemi is a pretty seaside town that has become a “must visit” location thanks to its pretty piazza with good restaurants. Siracusa is a bit further away, but this well-known town should not be missed during a holiday in Sicily. 

Activities 

As Solena is right by the sea, you can’t miss a boat trip! Set sail and explore the coastline. An experienced captain will take you to the best swimming spots and show you the best sights. Land lovers will prefer a private tour. Be guided to the unmissable highlights of the area during a tour or either Siracusa and Noto, or Ragusa and Modica. If food and wine are more your thing, don’t worry! Visit a local winery for a tasting and a tour, or book an in-villa cook service for a night of delicious Sicilian food at the villa.
