Giada

There is a large veranda at the entrance of the house but the highlight of the villa is the superb garden at the front which leads directly onto a picture-postcard sandy beach. Sitting areas include a second covered veranda which overlooks the lawn and a separate gazebo, with a dining table for six. A simple outdoor kitchen, with a barbecue, sink and camping stove is a real highlight. Barbecue locally-caught fish, and linger over leisurely al fresco meals under the shade of the gazebo.

Towering palm trees are dotted round the garden, providing shade over stone benches, sunloungers and tables and chairs. A gate leads into a private fenced-off area, between the beach and garden, which has sunloungers, an umbrella and garden swing seat.

The living and dining area has sea views and is furnished with a sofa and fully-fitted open-plan kitchen with a dining table. The two bedrooms are situated at either side of the living room: the single bedroom has a bathroom (with shower), and the master bedroom is ensuite (with shower), overlooking the garden and sea beyond.

The adjacent cottage is an excellent option for couples looking for a little more independence. The cottage is accessed from the back of the villa and comprises an open-plan living space with a double bed, sofa, kitchenette and a bathroom with shower.

Beaches

You can walk directly to the beach from Giada’s garden, but there are other great choices close by. Ciriga, Porto Ulisse, and Santa Maria del Focallo are all near the villa. Each more beautiful than the other, they are great choices for carefree days by the sea. Nearby Pozzallo is a haven for watersports. If you love windsurfing or want to try kitesurfing, this is the place to be. Fontane Bianche is towards Siracusa and is a pretty bay with many lidos. Or, if you prefer pure relaxation and unspoilt nature, head to Vendicari Nature Reserve with its spotless sandy bays and peaceful atmosphere. 

Towns & Sights 

South-east Sicily can easily be explored from Giada. The villa has the perfect location to get to know the Val di Noto with its Baroque towns. All with incredible architecture – recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage site – Modica is also famous for its chocolate, Scicli has amazing restaurants, Noto main piazza is a wonder, and Ragusa has amazing views. Visit them all! Siracusa is also a great choice for a day trip. This seaside town is very popular and has an amazing Greek theatre, wonderful sea views, and a beautiful historic town centre. For a slice of small-town life, don’t miss Marzamemi or Avola. 

Activities 

Hit the waves on a boat trip. It’s the best way to explore the coastline with its beautiful bays and clear water. A private tour is another great way to explore the area. Enjoy a tour of Ragusa and Modica, or Siracusa and Noto, and see the best sights around! There are many ways to indulge in Sicily’s food and wine scene; a wine tour and tasting will show you the best local vintages made in the area, or book an in-villa cook service or a cookery lesson if you want to have a fun foodie experience in your own villa.
