Il Faro

The highlight of Il Faro is without doubt the exceptional seafront location. Found on right by the sea, just beyond the ancient castle in Brucoli and surrounded by the clear Ionian Sea, this villa has a wraparound terrace that offers amazing views out over towards Mount Etna. At the front of the villa you can relax on sunloungers, or feel your cares drift away in the heated jacuzzi with sea views. To the back of the villa is a lovely shady dining area and barbecue where you can enjoy leisurely al fresco meals. There are two outdoor showers that are ideal for cooling off after the jacuzzi or a swim in the sea! 

The large roof terrace will take your breath away. The majolica tiles on the floor are original and add an authentic Sicilian beauty and charm. Furnished with beautiful outdoor sofas and chairs, the views from here are unparalleled. With 360° views, admire the views of the Aragonese castle right next to you, the village close by, and the sea below. You can access this roof terrace via a narrow spiral staircase through an external door, exactly how the old lighthouse keepers would have done in times gone by. The lantern in the lighthouse still functions, making this property even more unique. 

There’s even direct access to the rocky shore below. Take three steps down from the terrace and walk along a wooden plankway and reach some deckchairs by the water. It’s the perfect place to relax. You can also walk to a small sandy beach nearby where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the view. 

From the moment you enter Il Faro you’ll notice all the beautiful Made in Italy designer furniture and ornaments. Everything is of the highest quality and as eco-friendly as possible. Walk into the villa and you find yourself in the airy and bright open-plan living room. There are stylish sofas, a Smart T.V., a fireplace, and beautiful sea views through the large windows. Carry on into the kitchen and dining room. With professional-grade equipment, you can cook up a storm here and enjoy meals at the beautiful dining room with windows that look out towards the sea. 

Following on from the kitchen is a guest bathroom, and also a separate large chromotherapy shower, that also functions as a Turkish bath for an even more luxurious touch. 

There are three bedrooms on the first floor, accessible via the staircase in the living room. All three are wonderfully furnished with Molteni double beds. Each room has traditional arched windows offering a unique look to the rooms. The first double bedroom has a bathtub designed by Antonio Lupi in the bedroom itself, as well as ensuite bathroom with modern chromotherapy shower. The second double bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a chromotherary shower room with sea views, and bathtub by the same designer. The third bedroom is elegant and welcoming, and guests can make use of the bathroom and shower room on the ground floor. 

Beaches

With its seafront location, a beach holiday at Il Faro is a given. However, apart from the beach just a few steps from the villa, there are many other fantastic options in the area. Brucoli’s beach is a charming spot where families and friends can get together and have fun. To the south, head to Vendicari Nature Reserve for unspoilt sandy beaches, or Fontane Bianche for great lidos and pure relaxation. You’ll find Catania’s La Playa beach to the north of the villa, and making the effort to go to Isola Bella beach in Taormina is worth it for its absolute beauty and style. 

Towns & Sights 

Il Faro has a great location to explore Sicily’s south and east with ease. The Val di Noto – famous for its Baroque towns – is not far from the villa. Visit Noto, Scicli, Modica, and Ragusa, and surround yourself in these towns’ beauty, and indulge in their great restaurants and bars. Don’t miss Siracusa! Stroll through the historic centre and take in the fantastic architecture and sea views. Marzamemi is a small seafront town where you can enjoy a great lunch in the pretty town square, whilst Catania and the Riviera dei Ciclopi are worth visiting for the atmosphere and natural beauty. Don’t forget Mount Etna either!

Activities

There are many ways to add a fun experience to your holiday at Il Faro. Book a wine tasting and tour at a local winery, or head to Catania for a Street Food tour. Both are great options for foodies!
