Kalós

The garden at Kalós is pretty and perfect for getting away from it all. The pool is the highlight, with a hydro-massage area for an extra touch of luxury. There are some sunloungers nearby where you can enjoy the sunshine, as well as a beautiful outdoor sofa. Closer to the house there is a gazebo with a dining table where you can enjoy al fresco meals morning, noon, and night. The barbecue is ideal for cooking the freshest Sicilian ingredients. The garden also has a lovely grassy area with palm trees and olive trees. An external staircase near the gazebo takes you up to the shady roof terrace where you can take in the gorgeous sea views and also have an aperitivo at the seating area!

This recently built villa provides a high level of comfort with unique touches and beautiful quality furnishings. Modica stone walls and wooden ceilings add a real Sicilian flavour! Walk straight into the modern kitchen with a dining area. The gorgeous wooden dining table is perfect for fun meals together, and the kitchen has all the high-spec equipment you could need. Large French windows lead straight to the garden and lend the room a bright, airy feel. The kitchen leads directly to the living area with comfortable sofas, a TV and more large French window that overlook the pool.

A corridor leads off from the kitchen. To the left is a useful laundry room. Further along the corridor is the first double bedroom. Next to this is a large bathroom with shower. To the right are two further bedrooms, accessibly via another hallway. These two bedrooms share a large bathroom with a shower and both overlook the garden and gazebo. One bedroom is a double that can be converted to a twin. The second is a double bedroom with a French door that leads straight to the gazebo area.

Beaches

There are so many beautiful beaches in south-east Sicily, several very close to Kalòs. Pozzallo is a sandy beach that’s famous for watersports, why not give it a go! For quiet bays, Ciriga, Porto Ulisse, and Santa Maria del Focallo are all beautiful and relaxed. Sampieri is a small town with a peaceful family-friendly beach. Isola delle Correnti is unique and wild, where the Ionian and Mediterranean Seas meet. For pure, unspoilt nature, the Vendicari Nature Reserve is a wild expanse of sand that’s achingly beautiful. If you prefer beach bars, Fontane Bianche near Siracusa is a must. 

Towns & Sights 

There are traditional small towns along the coast that will charm you in this part of Sicily. Avola and Marzamemi are great examples where you can breathe in the sea air and eat a great lunch in an authentic local restaurant. Ragusa, Noto, Scicli, and Modica are part of the UNESCO-recognised towns of the Val di Noto. Each town has its own atmosphere, but they are united by their incredibly beautiful Baroque architecture. Visit them all! Siracusa is also not too far. World-famous, thanks to its Greek theatre and ruins, beautiful town centre, and sea views, Siracusa is unmissable.

Activities 

Head out to sea on a boat trip and explore the coastline with a different perspective, stopping off at beautiful bays, swimming in the sea, and taking in the views. Discover the wine culture of the area by visiting a local winery and enjoying a tour and tasting; maybe you’ll find your new favourite bottle! Book a private tour or Siracusa and Noto for the cultural highlights of the area, or learn to cook pastry or pasta during a lesson in the villa itself.
