Elaya

Elaya can hardly be seen from outside the property, due to its unique design and roof garden. The zen-like garden offers peace and tranquility and a wonderful environment in which to relax. Mediterranean herbs and plants, such as lavender, capers, rosemary and ancient olive trees are dotted around the property's garden, offering shady areas, as well as a heady fragrance unique to this part of the island. There are several seating areas.

The pool area is bliss. The long, narrow pool is superb for swimming your daily lengths, or for just relaxing in the cool water. Sunloungers and sun umbrellas are nearby, providing space for you to top up your tan or simply snooze under the Sicilian sun.

Accessible from the living area is a beautiful courtyard, covered with an awning. Here you will find an outdoor kitchen, a dining table and a comfortable sofa created using upcycled material. This living area offers a combination of inside comfort with al fresco style.

Enter the villa through the large sliding glass doors from the pool area into the chic living space. The modern kitchen, featuring a wine fridge perfect for chilling local wines, also boasts a practical island with a pull-out table, ideal for indoor dining. In the other half of the room, a cosy seating area with colourful chairs and a television invites you to relax. Artistic touches are found throughout, whether in the striking splashes of colour or the evocative decorations and ornaments.

There is one bedroom with a double bed, a single bed and an ensuite bathroom to the left of the living area. This bedroom has views out over the pool and is bright and cheery. The other two double bedrooms - both with their own ensuite bathrooms - are along a corridor to the right of the living room. One of these bedrooms has a futon-style bed, and also has access to the utility room and a small courtyard. Every one of these bedrooms has a simple, yet artistic, aesthetic.

Beaches

South-east Sicily’s beautiful beaches are easy to visit from Elaya. Sampieri is very close to the villa. This sandy beach is found in a chilled-out seaside town and is a great choice for families as there are many facilities. Marina di Modica and Marina di Ragusa are also close and both have sandy beaches, many restaurants and bars. If you love watersports then Pozzallo is for you. Or, if you prefer unspoilt beauty then a trip to Vendicari is a must! Santa Maria del Focallo and Ciriga are also nearby, both beautiful bays with relaxed atmospheres. 

Towns & Sights 

Elaya is found in the Val di Noto, an area known for its incredible Baroque towns. Each more beautiful than the last, these towns will enchant you! Visit Scicli for its beautiful piazzas and churches, as well as its wonderful restaurants. Modica is gorgeous and famous for chocolate. Ragusa Ibla is charming and full of narrow winding streets and amazing views, and Noto is a jewel with honey-coloured buildings. Further afield, head to Siracusa for its archaeology park and beautiful historic centre. If you prefer laid back seaside towns, then stop off at Marzamemi and enjoy an al fresco lunch in the picturesque piazza. 

Activities 

A holiday at Elaya is bound to be fun, as there are so many things to do in the area. In the villa itself you can organise a cook service, a cookery lesson, or even a pastry or pasta making lesson. These are wonderful choices for anyone who loves food, or who wants a break from cooking every evening! Foodies will also enjoy a wine tasting and tour at a local winery, whilst nature lovers will be delighted by a boat trip along the coast. If you are more interested in historical sites, book a private tour or Ragusa and Modica, or Siracusa and Noto.
