Megara

Simple, but with a real wow factor, you will want to spend all your time outside at Megara. The highlight is the pool area. You can enjoy daily swims in the pool, or just relax and unwind on one of the many sunloungers that surround the pool. For an extra touch of relaxation there’s also an unheated jacuzzi next to the pool where you can unwind! Competitive types will enjoy playing pool on the outdoor table. There’s a barbecue area where you can cook delicious meals under the sun. This beautiful and tranquil area is made even more enchanting with the view of Etna across the sea. It’s a magical environment for your holiday!

Walk straight into a gorgeous and bright open-plan living area. To the left is a modern kitchen fully fitted with everything you could need. Floor-to-ceiling French windows lead out to the pool area and afford the kitchen sea views. There is a large dining table where you can enjoy meals together as a group. The living area with a smart TV and comfortable sofas also has sea views and is bright and welcoming. One double bedroom with ensuite bathroom is on this level. The ground floor also has a guest bathroom, and a back kitchen with laundry facilities.

Further bedrooms are found upstairs on the first floor. All bedrooms are beautifully fitted with their own ensuite bathrooms with showers. The first floor has a wrap-around balcony which several of the bedrooms has access. Three of the bedrooms have double beds, whilst one has twin beds making it ideal for children.

Megara also features an exclusive fitness area equipped with excellent gym facilities, including treadmills, exercise bikes, an ab bench, a multi-gym station, dumbbells, kettlebells and mats. The space is enhanced by full-height opening glass doors, allowing you to work out while enjoying the pleasant sea breeze.

The next-door villa - La Ferla - is also available to rent. This is a beautiful villa with space for up to six guests. Book both villas for a group holiday of up to 16 people and enjoy a wonderful holiday in Sicily together with friends and family. 

Beaches

There are so many beaches in this area of Sicily. Megara is set right on the beach, so you’ll get your dose of sea breezes every day. Brucoli is a nearby seaside town with a lovely beach to visit. The Vendicari Nature Reserve is a protected area with incredible sandy beaches and amazing natural scenery. It’s a must for nature lovers. Plemmirio, near Siracusa, is another nature reserve with amazingly clear waters. Fontane Bianche, on the other hand, has many lidos where you can rent sunloungers and umbrellas, as does La Playa near Catania. There are so many options for beach days in Sicily! 

Towns & Sights 

Megara has an amazing location to explore south and east Sicily. Catania is not far from the villa. This bustling town has wonderful markets, a great food culture, and beautiful architecture made with lava stone. Mount Etna dominates the area and should not be missed. What an opportunity to visit Europe’s most active volcano! Val di Noto with its many Baroque towns like Ragusa, Modica, Noto, and Scicli is also close. Try to visit each and every one and be wowed by their beauty. Siracusa – with its astounding Greek archaeology park – is also unmissable during a holiday in Sicily. 

Activities 

There’s never a dull moment in this part of Sicily! Enhance your holiday with a wine tasting at a local winery, or participate in a Street Food tour in Catania and get to know the local food scene. A boat tour is a great choice if you want to get out into nature, as is a Jeep tour up to the summit of Etna, or a quad tour in the incredibly beautiful Alcantara Gorges. You could also book a cook service in the villa, and treat yourself to some lovely Sicilian food in the comfort of your own villa.
