Casa Blu

A veranda with outdoor table and chairs, and next to the entrance to the villa, offers welcome shade at mealtimes and a second sheltered area, at the back of the house, provides an alternative spot for breakfast. Chill out on the patio around the beautiful infinity pool and gaze out across rolling Sicilian countryside that leads down to the sea.

The house is charming, with beamed ceilings, white-washed walls and plenty of natural daylight. Enter the house directly into the living room, modestly furnished with two striking blue sofas in front of the large window, and a separate dining area with table and chairs. A small rustic-style kitchen, with lovely Sicilian majolica tiles, conveniently leads directly out to the outdoor barbecue area and dining table. A double and a twin bedroom, and an attractively-tiled bathroom (with shower), are all on the same floor as the living room and kitchen.

Beaches

A beach holiday is as easy at Casa Blu, there are just so many to choose from! Tonnara di Scopello is very close. Often used as a filming location, the bay’s beauty is second to none and the seastacks create an incredible backdrop. Guidaloca beach is also close, and is ideal for a relaxed day at the beach. If you prefer small, rocky bays, head to Lo Zingaro. This is a protected stretch of coastline and you can hike along it stopping off at a series of bays. For a classic sandy beach then San Vito lo Capo is the best choice with its many lidos and bars. 

Towns & Sights

Scopello has all you need as a base for a holiday. Stop off at the baglio where there are several restaurants and bars and don’t miss the famous pane cunzato! Marsala isn’t far and is worth visiting. Known all over the world for its wine, this town has a pretty centre full of wine bars and top-class restaurants. Trapani is a smaller seaside town. Visit and then take a ferry to the Aegadian islands – you can go to Favignana for lunch! From Trapani take the cable car to Erice with its fairy-tale atmosphere. Or, visit ever-popular San Vito lo Capo and eat some cous cous! 

Activities 

If you can tear yourself away from Casa Blu, there’s lots to do in the area. Visit the ancient temple and theatre at Segesta for a step back in time and the salt-pans near Trapani during a guided tour. Or visit a local winery. There are several world-famous producers in Marsala so make the most of being in the area and try the local tipples! Foodies will love a cookery lesson in a local cookery school, or a Street Food tour in Palermo. If you prefer to get out in nature, enjoy a boat trip either along the west coast, or out to the Aegadian Islands.
