Itaca

The covered veranda – with outstanding views out to the sea and Monte Cofano – is furnished with tables and chairs perfect for enjoying al fresco meals, which can be prepared in the garden's fantastic barbecue area which includes a beautiful wood-burning oven. Potter down some steps and you will reach the garden with its saltwater pool, sunloungers and stylish gazebo.

The interior is simple, but charming with light coming in from French windows that lead to the gorgeous covered patio found in both the bright sitting room and the practical kitchen. The living area is charmingly furnished with a sofa, armchairs and a small dining table. A large bathroom with a shower is also found on the ground floor.

The first floor has three bedrooms. The light and airy master bedroom, with a double bed, has access to a small balcony that overlooks the astonishing scenery below. The other two bedrooms both have French beds with one bedroom leading out to a terrace that is connected to the master bedroom's balcony. All three bedrooms share one spacious bathroom with a shower.

Beaches

There are so many authentic Sicilian beaches near Itaca. Baia Cornino and San Giuliano are both close, and are chilled-out beaches where you can completely relax. San Vito lo Capo’s sandy beach is world-famous and should not be missed! Macari nearby is also a great choice for lazy days by the sea. For unspoilt nature, head to Lo Zingaro nature reserve, an 8 km stretch of coastline with a series of bays to hike along. Scopello’s famous Tonnara is also not too far, and should be visited for its outstanding beauty that will leave you speechless. 

Towns & Sights 

For small towns vibes, Custonaci and Cornino are perfect coastal towns with a relaxed atmosphere and small bars and restaurants. Erice is a fairy-tale hilltop town with Medieval architecture and a magical atmosphere and extraordinary views. Below Erice you can find Trapani, a port town with ferry links to the beautiful Aegadian Islands; visit Favignana for lunch one day! Marsala is slightly further away, but worth a visit for its beautiful town centre, wine culture, and amazing sunsets from the salt pans where the sun seems to dissolve into the sea creating a beautiful palette of colours. 

Activities 

To see the best sights of the area, a private tour of Segesta, Erice, and the salt pans. You’ll see ancient temples, beautiful architecture, and amazing nature. It’s a great day out! In the villa you could book a pizza-making lesson, or a cookery lesson. Or, just book a cook service for a night off from cooking. A wine tour and tasting in Marsala is a must as this area is so famous for its eponymous wine. For days under the sun, enjoy a bout trip to the Aegadian Islands and swim in the clearest water you can imagine!
