Dimore Alisei
Morciano di Leuca (South Puglia)
This villa’s style is inspired by classic Salento architecture. The classical vaults with visible stone bring to mind the dry-stone wall technique that blends harmoniously with the surrounding rooms.
The main house opens up to a charming circular veranda with a dining table with stone benches, protected from the elements by a white wooden canopy that allows you to enjoy shady al fresco meals. The veranda then stretches to a sunnier area with climbing plants that decorate this area beautifully. There’s a second veranda with a wooden canopy around the villa with another dining table, oven, and barbecue.
The upper guesthouse also has a veranda with a comfy seating area and sea views.
The well looked after garden is reached by a path with paving stone using local stone that then leads to the infinity pool. This is in a half-moon shape with turquoise tones, and is surrounded by local vegetation and reflects the setting of the villa, ensuing privacy and relaxation thanks to its shady areas and sunloungers and the superb panorama of Torre Vado.
Dimore Alisei is on a few levels, following the gentle slope of the hill on which the property is found. It is made up of a main house, and two guest houses.
The main part of the villa is built in an ancient trullo, or to be more precise, a “lamia” with a flat roof and walls that are more than a metre thick. Walk into the semicircular living area with a sofa area and a TV, and a modern kitchen, and a dining room that leads directly to the veranda outside. From the dining room, and under a characteristic stone arch, you reach the bedrooms. There’s one bedroom with a double bed, a sofa bed, a TV and access to the garden. This room has a bathroom next door with a shower. There’s another bedroom with three single beds and an ensuite bathroom. This room also has direct access to the garden.
There is one guest house below the main house. This guest house has a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with a shower. There’s also a single bed so this room can be used as a triple.
On the upper level above the main house is the second guest house, which is the perfect choice for a couple who are looking for a bit more privacy. With incredible sea views, this guesthouse has wooden beams, air conditioning, and a double bed as well as a bathroom with a shower.
Dimore Alisei is found in Torre Vado, in the province of Lecce, less than 2 kilometres from the famous Pescoluse beach that’s also known as the “Maldives of Salento”. It’s also just a few minutes’ away from the small town. This area has long stretches of beautiful free beaches, as well as many equipped beach bars such as Eden which also allows pets.
There’s a small port just 800 m from the villa where private boats can moor, and from where you can also rent small or medium sized boats for trips along the coast discovering the many caves. You can also visit the sanctuary at Santa Maria di Leuca, swim in crystal-clear waters, or if you love trekking, take a walk along the Sentiero delle Cipolliane which goes along the promontory and then leads to the sea.
Going a bit further away along the coast you’ll get to Gallipoli with its famous castle and the Fontana Greca from the Renaissance, as well as the beaches like Baia Verde di Gallipoli and Lido Punta della Suina.
